Lana : BH trials

Princess Lana is growing up and ready to take her "Begleithundeprfung" trials.

Mae had not compete with her GSDs in almost a year! but it felt good to be out again. Today she was testing with Lana, daughter of SVK's best female shepherd "Belle". Lana had the intelligence and focus to follow in her mother's paw prints. The first test was early morning at the stadium and consisted of general obedience. The setting was fairly controlled, so the focus was on promptness & precision. Lana was naturally handler oriented, almost to a fault, so things like heel work and recall had always gone well. Drop in motion was not her forte, and there was a momentary pause in her response today. But she did drop and stay - hopefully that would pass.

Out on the town later that afternoon, the urban bustle required focus and responsiveness. Lana was a little distracted at the start of the test, but settled quickly. She was not nervous, just curious as you would expect for a country dog in the city for the first time. They had trained around vehicles, bikers and small crowds in their smaller town, and Lana had the desired calm alert temperament, so Mae wasn't worried about any aggression or undesirable response in regards to those around them. She had. Lana sit for the several of the encounters, and the shepherd sat calmly watching her handler and waiting for her cues.

ugh, havent been able to draw my shepherds for a long time! but I have some pups that need to grow up and get in motion, so here is one of them. I have no idea what I wrote above, but hopefully it gets the idea across. Some non-brain fog day I will try to do better.
